The 2015 Audi A4 goes mechanically unchanged for that new model year. The base model feels just a little underwhelming compared to its rivals, but the supercharged S4 remains a joy they are driving. For the sport enthusiast, the Audi S4 may be the choice pick. The S4’s engine is upgraded to some supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 along with direct injection, rated at 333 hp. The extra oomph gets the actual S4 to 60 mph in only 4.9 seconds and onto an electronically limited top pace of 155 mph. Throttle reaction is crisp and quick, particularly if paired with the quick-shifting obtainable seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
A manual transmission can also be available. The S4’s exhaust note isn’t as sweet since the previous-generation’s V-8 engine, but it is a marked upgrade from the four-cylinder within the base version. The S4’s handling is upgraded too, making for a smooth as well as satisfying spirited driving. The S4 also uses an electrical steering systems, including some of the functions of the variable-effort depending on vehicle speed in base type. Dynamic Steering and Drive Select will also be available, but our previous objections affect the S4 as well.
Quattro all-wheel generate is standard, with a rear-biased forty: 60 power split at default providing an infinitely more dynamic character. The 2015 Audi A4 sedan offers only one engine: 2.0-liter, 220-horsepower turbocharged TFSI in-line 4-cylinder. With 9 more horsepower than 2013’s A4, the brand new car promises to be somewhat quicker, though Audi hasn’t launched updated performance statistics. The quotes for 2013 place the A4 at 60 mph in less than 6.3 seconds with the automatic or manual transmissions, CVT variations at 6.7 seconds. All A4 sedans provide a top speed of 130 mph. These figures are from the pace of BMW and Cadillac with a noticeable margin, but close towards the base Mercedes-Benz C250.
Manual and automatic versions from the A4 also come standard along with Quattro all-wheel drive, and could be upgraded with the Sport bundle, which enhances the suspension tuning as well as upgrades to 18-inch alloy tires with high-performance summer tires. Probably the most expensive versions of the A4 provide optional Dynamic Steering and Generate Select, which allows the user to tailor energy steering, transmission, throttle, and damper settings to match their taste, across a selection of comfort- and sport-oriented modes.
Drive Select hasn’t been our favorite add-on previously, as it’s difficult to discover mutually agreeable settings that period across all systems. It’s a costly add-on, and easy to reside without. The brakes on the 2015 Audi A4 performance and features reviews sedan are also a trouble point, with grabby wedding at low speeds, though high-speed feel and function is usually very good.
The 2015 Audi A4 as well as S4 offer features that aren’t available on other vehicles in the segmented save perhaps the all-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class but you will need to layer up the options and price to obtain them. For the sportier S4 four doors, the equipment level is upgraded in the outset: all S4 models obtain Bluetooth, a sport steering wheel with shift paddles, sport chairs with Alcantara inserts, three-zone environment control, and a range associated with aesthetic upgrades inside and away.
For best value in the A4 range, the Premium in addition package adds three-zone climate manage, Bluetooth, heated seats, a journey computer, garage door opener, rain/light devices, and an auto-dimming mirror amongst other extras. Navigation is optionally available, bundled in a package using the rearview camera, HD Radio, as well as Audi Connect (more on which below). An available Sport bundle brings bolstered sport seats along with lumbar adjustment, three-spoke controls with sport paddles, and an activity suspension.
